Thapar University
also known as Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology University was
established in the year 1956. Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology
University is located in sprawling green campus spreading on more than 250
acres of area in the historic city of Patiala and is famous among India’s
leading Deemed Universities in the north-western region of India. Its set-up is
more or less very similar to that of IITs and other well recognized technical
Institutes. It is accredited by National Assessment and Accreditation Council
(NAAC) which is an autonomous Institution of UGC. Facilities like Bank, Post
Office, Hospital, Both Boys and Girls Hostel, Library, canteen and sports are
available in Thapar University.
